Swim Strong Foundation Partners to Increase Water Safety in New York

Swim Strong Foundation is so excited to present a partnership with Surfrider FoundationLaru Beya and Patagonia. Our organizations passionately came together to support a bill that will mandate watersafety instruction in schools (Senate Bill S2207// Assembly Bill A728).

This will be a part of overcoming the socioeconomic and cultural barriers that have unfairly rendered many resources, opportunities, activities and spaces inaccessible to so many. Laying the foundation for a more inclusive and safer recreational water community with our youth, especially our BIPOC youth, is crucial to implementing inclusivity and to saving lives.

We believe that water safety education is an essential right for all!
As a part of this partnership, the extremely talented artist Eugenia Mello (@eumiel) completed a series of murals inspired by a shared vision of diversifying the outdoors.

The murals have been installed and unveiled at the following New York #Patagonia locations: SoHo, Bowery, Meatpacking and UWS.Gratitude, Eugenia for sharing your beautiful work with this initiative.

Support Senate Bill S2207. Tell your elected official that water safety instruction should be mandatory across schools in NY state! You can do so or learn more at Laru Beya Collective.
