@SwimStrongFoundationInc, @SurfriderNYC, @Patagonia, and @TheLaruBeyaCollective have come together to support a bill that will mandate water safety instruction in schools (Senate Bill S2207 // Assembly Bill A728). This is a part of overcoming the socioeconomic + cultural barriers that have unfairly rendered resources, opportunities, activities and spaces inaccessible to so many. Laying the foundation for a more diverse + safer recreational water community with our youth, especially our BIPOC youth, is crucial to implementing inclusivity and to saving lives. Water safety education is an essential right for all!
