Swim Strong Foundation Receives $10,000 in Grants from PepsiCo

Swim Strong Foundation received a $5000 grant from PepsiCo, the second investment to support our youth volunteer mentoring program.  Swim Strong will provide job readiness skills that transcend the pool and can be applied from the school room to the board room.  These skills include resume writing, networking, the professional use of social media and interviewing skills.  PepsiCo has made a substantial investment in the youth of New York.  Through their leadership, PepsiCo continues to be valuable partner in helping keep people safe in and around the water, as well as providing mentoring programs that teach life and job readiness skills.
Swim Strong Foundation is a nonprofit organization that saves and changes lives through water safety and swimming education for all, including those who would not generally have access to the water due to cultural and economic barriers. Our programs are geared towards improving our participants’ health and safety, as well as providing skills for life that transcend the pool. We challenge participants to learn the life lessons of commitment, goal setting self-discipline,   team work and resiliency through competitive swimming.  Through Swim Strong’s mentoring program, our high school and  college aged volunteers are being taught valuable life skills which they in turn can pass on to younger students. This fits seamlessly into one of PepsiCo Foundation’s “Performance with Purpose” themes.

When our participants join Swim Strong, they find more than just a swimming program; they find an extended family.
