NAACP – FAR ROCKAWAY BRANCH  –  PRESENTS  –  A FILM CALLED

BLACKS CANT SWIM-Ed Accura is a black British man, who – after watching an upsetting news report on bad weather and flooding – develops an acute phobia of drowning. Unable to swim, he begins wearing a life jacket everywhere he goes. Ed is torn between his friends, who try and encourage him to learn how to swim; and society, who assaults his confidence with stereotypes of black people being unable to swim. The film combines drama with real interview footage of community members, sharing their thoughts on the subject.
